Two-channeled video work
digitised 16mm film, HDV, stereo
loop duration 04:45 min

The artists Jenni Haili and Nike Arnold were brought to a formerly unknown place to them while being blindfolded. The artists were left to experience and get exposed to the place for twenty minutes, without the sense of sight. During that time they recorded the sounds of the environment as well as their own conceptions and feelings about the place. The recorded impressions functioned as a starting point for the imaginary and constructed place filmed on the 16mm film (image on the right). When the film was complete the artists returned to the place of the experiment, this time with their eyes open, and documented the actual surrounding by video (image on the left). In the art work the imaginary and real place are apposited next to each other.

Kaksikanavainen videoteos,
digitioitu 16mm filmi, HDV, stereo
loopin kesto 4:45 min

Taiteilijat Jenni Haili ja Nike Arnold kuljetettiin silmät sidottuina heille tuntemattomaan paikkaan. Taiteilijat kokivat ja kulkivat paikassa kahdenkymmenen minuutin ajan sokkoina. Tuona aikana he nauhoittivat ympäristön ääniä sekä tuntemuksensa ja mielikuvansa ääniraidoille. Nauhoitetut vaikutelmat paikasta toimivat lähtökohtana 16mm elokuvanauhalle kuvatulle kuvitteelliselle ja täysin rakennetulle paikalle (oikeanpuoleinen kuva). 16mm filmille kuvatun materiaalin valmistuttua taiteilijat kävivät uudelleen samassa paikassa, tällä kertaa silmät avoinna, ja dokumentoivat todellisen ympäristön videolle (vasemmanpuoleinen kuva). Teoksessa kuvitteellinen ja todellinen paikka rinnastuvat vierekkäin projisoitaessa.
