Three pieces of my series “I’m ok” will participate in an exhibition held in Cheongju International Craft Biennale in South Korea. The theme of the exhibition is Visioning Future through Craft and Design. The exhibition is a part of Ornamo’s (The Finnish Association of Designers) Finland 100 jubilee events.

Visioning Future through Craft and Design / Finnish exhibition

The exhibition showcases craft artists’ futures imagination skills and how these skillful people are constructing the future through their work. Craft and design is changing while tempos in designing, experimenting, manufacturing are getting faster and product lifecycles are getting shorter. How craft artist and designers are responsing to this challenge? How the craft, its methods, aesthetics and forms are changing when digitalization is getting more common, when new materials and methods are entering into this field? The exhibition reflects on these issues through different genres of contemporary crafts (textile, metal, wood, jewelry ect.). The exhibition highlights Finnish way of renewing everyday aesthetics through unexceptional and courage way of imaging the future through craft and design.
